Gooey Chocolate Caramel Brownies
Ingredients:
- 1 cup 2 sticks unsalted butter
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 3/4 cup cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup caramel sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans optional
Instructions:
Preheat your oven to 350F 175C
Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish
In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in 30-second intervals until fully melted
Stir in the sugar until well combined
Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition
Stir in the vanilla extract
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt
Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined
Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips and chopped pecans, if desired
Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared baking dish
Drizzle half of the caramel sauce over the batter
Repeat with the remaining batter and caramel sauce, creating a swirl effect with a knife or toothpick
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs
Allow the brownies to cool in the dish for about 30 minutes before cutting into squares
